Hva er Retro? - What is Retro?

Ja hva er retro? Jeg har sett i blader og aviser at ordene retro og vintage er på alles lepper for tiden. Men det er forvirring ute og går om hva uttrykkene betyr.

Retro er noe som har vært som blir laget på nytt. F.eks. sengesett som er likt dem de produserte for 30 år siden eller smykker som har samme design og farge som smykker fra 60-tallet. Ordet retro kommer fra latin og betyr "tilbake/tidligere tider". Eller som det blir mest omtalt "på nytt". Og er altså etterligning og kopiering av farger, stil og moter som var før i tiden.

Men hvis retrostilen er en antikk stil. Brukes ikke ordet retro. Da kaller man det "vintage stil".

What does the word retro mean? I have seen in magezines and newspapers lately that there are a lot of confusion about the terms Vintage and Retro.

Retro is something that has been remade. For instance a bedding sett that is simular or equally to one that was prodused for 30 years ago. Or jewelry that has the same design and color as jewelry from the 60's. The word Retro is latin and means "backwards" or "in past times". Or as the mostly used term "once again". And it is used to describe imitation and kopi of colors, style and fashion that we had in the past.

But if the retro style is and vintage style. It is not called retro but "Vintage style"
