Føldselssteinen for mars Akvarmarin også kalt Beryll. Denne steinen er en blå stein der fargen spenner fra lys til dypblå. Steinen har alltid vært ettertraktet for sin vakre farge og glans. Den blå fargen skyldes innholdet av scandium i steinen.
I løpet av de 15 siste årene har nye funn av steinen (spesielt de intenst blå) blitt mer sjeldne og den har derfor blitt mer ettertraktet. Av den grunn er det blitt mer vanlig med såkalte syntetiske steiner (også kalt manmade. Er ekte stein, men den blir laget ved trykk m.m. i laboratorium). Steinen er blitt funnet bla i Brasil, Sri Lanka, India og Madagaskar.
I følge gammel tro skal steinen inneha egenskapen til å vekke sympati, gode følelser, håp, harmoni og vennskap. En stein å gi til gode venner, familie og sin utkårede altså.
